Job Description

The Assistant Cultivation Manager will help to create and implement the vision and best practices as set forth by the Farm and Company leadership team. This position requires an expert level understanding of plant health, genetics, pests, pathogens, company SOPs, automation, and all tasks associated with the growing and harvesting of cannabis. Assists the Farm management team in leading daily tasks and keeping all parts of production on cadence and up to compliance. The position oversees all cultivation operations including propagation, outdoor cultivation methodologies, plant health, plant nutrition, harvesting, & curing.

Duties

  • Manage cultivation by initiating, coordinating, developing, and enforcing the cultivation program.
  • Manage operational protocols, safety protocols, personnel policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain MED & METRC compliance in all cultivation aspects.
  • Knowledge of Michigan State Laws regarding Cannabis.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a detailed schedule.
  • Proficient in time management and balancing labor cost
  • Constantly ensures cultivation excellence in all aspects of operations.
  • Ability to improve efficiency of cultivation processes.
  • Ensure all tasks involving the Cultivation Department are completed with precision, consistency and on-time.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with all stages of development of the cannabis.
  • Proficient communication with processing department.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure all Cultivation and Harvest inventory needs are being met.
  • Manage nutrient and fertilizer programs.
  • Respond to facility related failures promptly while maintaining preventative tasks in accordance with facility needs.
  • Full-Time 8:00am – 5:00pm – Occasional Weekend Availability Necessary

Requirements

  • Age 21 or over (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agronomy, Plant Sciences, or Horticulture preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an outdoor growing operations required.
  • 1+ years of people management experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Commercial Cultivation or Agriculture experience required.
  • Expert understanding of cannabis genetics and plant characteristics.
  • Expert knowledge and experience identifying plant diseases, pests and health.
  • Experienced team leader with a consistent positive attitude and a vision for the future met with actions and success.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership skills and possessed a strong work ethic.
  • Must be organized and have attention to detail.
  • Operational workflow and process improvement experience preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge organizing training programs and task tiers for team members.
